I am writing to let you know how satisfied I was with the service I received today from Firedog's technician, Joey Best.  Here is a little background information.  We purchased a complete entertainment system from Circuit City and had Firedog install it in June of 2007.  We purchased a Harmony 890 remote that was also programmed at that time.
 
Over the past 6 months, we have continually had problems with the TV going blank and the audio staying on, the remote "help" function not fixing various problems such as the above and others, the surround sound number 4 and number 5 speakers not really functioning, and a general feeling as though the system or the remote were possessed due to a lack of consistency and the problems disappearing and then reappearing.
 
I had one phone consult between June and October that temporarily fixed whatever particular problem was happening at that time, but then the "demons" returned.  In November 2007 I paid for a Firedog service call only to be told that the entire system was fine and that it had to be the cable box.  Of course, the TV was not acting up at the time of the service call. 
 
The TV picture began to show sections of pixels in January and I had Time Warner come out.  They replaced a portion of the cable from inside the garage to the first outlet in the house and that fixed the pixel problem that began in December.  They inspected and tested the rest of the cable and it is fine.  I did ask that technician about the problems we were having and he was able to determine that the problem appeared to be in the receiver or in the sequencing.  The cable box is a DVR cable box and is working properly although he admitted they have recently run some updates that are improving their system.
 
I scheduled another Firedog service call explaining my dissatisfaction with the November service where they didn't do any thing other than to tell me that everything was hooked up properly.  Yet here I was still having the same problems.  That's when Joey Best was sent to our home.  Joey was able to not only stream line our system by rewiring what was there but he was able to explain what and why he was doing it in layman's terms.  All we lost was our ability to record on VHS which we never do.  Because he understood the workings and specific quirks of our particular Onkyo receiver and our Mitsubishi TV,  he hooked the cable box directly to the TV so we no longer would have a compatibility problem between the Onkyo receiver and the cable box that was causing us to lose the picture with the audio remaining on. 
 
Joey also set up the surround sound speakers properly.  We have 5 speakers, but originally it was set up as if we had 7 speakers.  The levels also needed to be adjusted and we now have true surround sound.  In addition, Joey set up our remote in a more user friendly manner.  He gave us options we never knew we had that are quite useful for day to day use.  If all technicians could have his level of expertise, I can't help but believe we could have avoided the problems we have suffered with for 6 months.
 
Joey is a true professional and an excellent Firedog representative.  His knowledge far exceeds anyone else I have met in the field and his approach is one that puts the customer first.  It seems truly important to him that the customer is not only satisfied, but understands the problem and any choices they might have.  This shows true respect for the customer and for his profession.  He definitely gave well above 100% in servicing our system.  If I ever have another problem, I definitely would request to have Joey come out and troubleshoot it. 
 
Many people only write letters when they are upset or dissatisfied.  I believe in writing letters to inform people of not only problems, but of outstanding service as well.

Joey Best serviced our Harmony remote this morning and I want you to know that we are very pleased with the service he provided. He gave me a heads up when he left his previous service site to let me know he was on his way, a courtesy that was most appreciated.  When he arrived he inquired about what we wanted to achieve from our equipment, and installed the cables from our many components to enable our Harmony remote to properly function. 

Mr. Best is the third person, and I think the most knowledgeable, to work on our Harmony system.  It was very clear to me that he was most familiar with the system as he set about to quickly program the various components. 

When he finished, he had my wife operate the Harmony remote and pointed out to both of us things that could be done with the remote of which neither of us were aware.  He had us operate every component including the TV, a Bose system, a DVR, a VHS, and the TIVO feature provide by our cable system. 

Before he left, he turned all the equipment off and than re-ran everything to ensure that the work had been properly done. 

Please know that I am most favorably impressed with his courtesy and skill.  Without hesitation, I would recommend his services to my friends and neighbors.

My wife and I would like to express our appreciation for the excellent service one of your employees, Joey Best, provided yesterday, 11/20/07. Joey was scheduled to arrive and remove our 50" TV from the wall so a repairman from Circuit City could replace a circuit board.  Joey called in a timely manner to let us know when he would be here, and he was very prompt.

During Joey's visit, I explained to Joey that I was not getting the surround sound I thought I should have.  Joey looked at my equipment and made some suggestions, basically everything I had was out of date.  As a benefit, Joey stocks Receivers, Blu Ray Players and Single Remotes that replace all of my 5 remotes and allows me to turn on everything I want with the press of 1 button.

Joey was definitely a true professional and we will recommend him to family  members and friends when the time comes.

I had a person by the name of "Robert" come last week to install our Home Theatre System.  He did install all equipment, however, he didn't explain anything in detail the way Joey explained all components. 

I wanted to let you know that your employee, Joey Best, did a fantastic job connecting our system and explained every component in detail and how they work in every which way possible.  Joey took the time and explained what cables would work best with our High Definition Television.  He is very knowledgable in all areas and I consider him to be a great asset for my A/V needs.

I have been so pleased with Joey Best that I just wanted to let you know what a valuable asset you have in Joey Best.   He is such a courteous, pleasant young man, and he was a tremendous help to me recently when he came to the house after we had bought a new TV from your store and needed some assistance.    He basically completely revamped our entire entertainment center....the TV...CD player...DVR...speakers...amplifiers...and the DVD player.  

He also eliminated a huge tangle of unsightly wires that had become a real annoyance to me, but I wasn't sure what to do with all of them!!!    That also meant a great deal to me to have that taken care of.   He talked in language that I could understand and just was a real pleasure to work with him.   So I just wanted to let you know that he is an extremely competent young man, plus being very personable too.   He is definitely an asset to your company.

This letter is sent in commendation of Joey.  Joey installed wiring for new Sony 52" T.V. plus a Harmony Universal Remote.  I must say I was more than pleased with his work.  He was extremely helpful in instructing me on every aspect of T.V. operation using the new remote and everthing works perfectly.  I now have  HDMI and optical sound with option to have surround sound or T.V. speaker sound. Programing of the remote makes everthing simple. I'm an very happy customer.
